This week, the president and congress released copies of the budget. I must say that if I were to carry deficits of that size (proportionally, of course) I’d probably have 3 maxed out HELOCs and a mitt-full of credit cards, all with high limits and even higher balances. Unfortunately, they are still on a borrowing binge, and it doesn’t look like it will end soon. The one question that remains to be answered is will anyone have the brass to do what needs to be done? Who knows.
Sam had an Interview with an entrepreneur over on his website. I found the content very, very interesting and while I am familiar with chicago parking (I’ve got some friends that live there) the amounts that they pay completely baffle me. Houses in my area rent for what they pay for a parking spot.
Trent had a post about how it’s harder to get started today than it was 40 years ago. I must say that I agree. Everything is trying to push you into making bad decisions that will affect your future, and it’s easy to say yes and just let your future self deal with it. Dont – It’s a terrible idea.
Crystal at BFS has a post about her (and her husbands) biggest financial mistake. There are so many things that can go wrong when dealing with a business, it’s very easy to get in over your head. You may grow slower, but if you pay cash for everything, you’ll be just fine.
There’s not much to read this week – I had a big week at work, and just didnt get time to read as much as I normally do. Hopefully that will change in the future, however.
