Weekly Links – Hunting Edition 3

by Jeff on December 2, 2010

This weekend, I’ll be going up to the great white north of Wyoming to do some elk hunting.  This will be the third time that I’ve gone out for elk, and hopefully I’ll have some luck this time.  The last two times I went out, there was no snow, and that makes it extremely difficult to find the elk.  I will be in an area with a much higher elk population than the last area though, so I’m hoping it will be a bit easier.

The header image for this website was also taken in the area (Signal Mountain, near Jackson, WY) and I may go up and see if I can get a winter version of the same picture.  I’m not sure that this is possible – the road could be seasonally closed because of the amount of snow that the area gets in the winter (125″ + as of Monday).  I may snowshoe up there, but I’m not sure at this point if I’ll have the time.  Anyway, enjoy the best of the web this week.

Good luck with the hunting. We were camping with my brother one summer and he brought along ‘elk’ for dinner. I was scared at first, but it was absolutely delicious.

Kris,
Thanks for dropping by. Im hoping that I’ll be successful this time around with elk, as I’ve had 2 unsuccessful trips so far this year. Some people are slightly skittish around game (I don’t blame them) but everything that i’ve has has been very good.
