Hello everyone. Hopefully you didnt miss me too much recently, as I’ve been fairly hands off of the blog for the better part of a month. Now that i’m no longer working 20+ hour days at a volunteer gig or unwinding from said volunteer gig in Atlanta, GA, hopefully there will be more going on around here. My first task is to determine wth is up with the sidebars and why there’s only 1 when there’s supposed to be two.
Anyway, this edition will be a bit longer since I have not shared some links in quite some time. Here goes
Yakezie Links
This post has 2 articles from the NY Times, but only 1 is actual text. I found this while browsing the site, and have never seen many of these back of the napkin drawings on the Bucks Blog. They are pretty cool, and have a message as well.
Could you Live on a Houseboat? at Budgets are Sexy. While I’ve never given a houseboat consideration (I’ve never lived more than 1,017 miles away from water), I’ve always wanted to live in a smaller space. For houseboats, I didn’t know there was an electricity requirement. That’s like forced conservation!
Why you should ask for a raise now at Pop Economics. I really like pop’s blog, and because of my fascination with economics, I really get into it when he (or she?) publishes a new article. This one is great for my and my situation right now, something that I hope to be able to elaborate on more in the future.
Student Loan Repayment Plan at FinanceurLife. Help doc figure out what to do with his student loans. Go over and leave a comment for him.
Am I a Poser Now? At Deliver Away Debt. Jeff has been relatively quiet lately, and he’s now told us why. He’s been working like a DOG! He’s paid off over 50k of debt in 15 months, and is swamped with 2 jobs (I know the feeling). Good luck with all the overtime, and dont forget the important reasons you’re doing this!
Sales Tax Holiday at Little House in the Valley. I’ve never heard of these before, and while they are nice, I don’t think they are a great idea. Enjoy them if you’ve got them though!
Green Finds
Off the Grid Living in Costa Rica at Inhabitat. This is something I’ve always wanted to do, so i’m glad I can keep finding interesting examples of people doing it everywhere.
Not all that practical based on the limited supply of butter, but very cool. (Side note: I have a thing for biodiesel)
Plastic Bag Monsters at Inhabitat. Cool concept, but will it actually work in changing public perception of plastic bags?
Places I’ve appeared around the Web
Carnival of Financial Planning #152 at The Financial Blogger
I got my first link love from J Money @ Budgets are Sexy as well. (I couldn’t believe I was included, J’s an awesome writer and didnt think my blog was on the radar of blogs of that size/stature)
Featured in the Link Round up at DINKS Finance as well.
