Weekly Links – Go Time Edition

by Jeff on July 22, 2010

I mentioned earlier (I believe it was last week) that I volunteer for our local rodeo.  While most of you know I’m in Wyoming, I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s a HUGE production here.  It goes on for quite a few days and is a totally huge deal.  I’m very excited, and it’s been nice to get out and do something with other people in the community.  It’s not often that I have the opportunity to do manual labor, which is unfortunate, because I throughly enjoy it.  Either way, the Rodeo is almost here and next week is going to be super packed for me.  The week after that, I decided to head over to Atlanta for some much needed R & R (and as an I’m Credit card debt free gift).  I’ve got some posts lined up to auto post, and I hope you’ll enjoy them.

I thought this infographic from Len Penzo dot com was awesome.  It’s called “The Ugly Truth: Why Big Spenders are Bad in Bed” This is an easy theory to agree with, and it’s pretty funny as well.  Lots of great comments, but most of the things in the infographic ring true.  I thought my car payment at $350 was high, but this guy is paying $900!

Why I’m Obsessed with Change at Eventual Millionaire – Great article about the authors experiences with change.  I cant believe she’s moved that many times.  I thought 6 times in 7 years was a lot.  Sheesh.

Beware of Exotic Funds at Monevator.  This is always something to think about.  When the housing bubble was inflating, some jumped right in and thought that these were the best thing since canned dirt.  They weren’t.  Ever noticed what Warren Buffet buys? Bank of America, Comcast, Coke, General Electric, Home Depot, Costco.  Boring crap, right?  Who cares, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want some of that.

Best Sweet Potatoes at Budgeting in the FUN Stuff – These look Good, and I’ll have to try them out this thanksgiving maybe.
