Weekly Links: Spy Edition

Early this week, 11 people were arrested for allegedly spying on the United States for Russia.  Quite the controversy if you ask me, and while I knew that sort of thing was going on, I didnt really expect it to be Russia v the US.  I figured someone would be spying on china or India.  Who knows.  Anyway, here are some of the best articles from around the Yakezie world this week.

JD At get rich slowly had a great post called “The rewards of frugality and thrift, or why we scrimp and save”  It’s about how his spending habits have completely changed now, and he buys things that are sometimes expensive, but he gets a great deal of joy out of them.

Jeff @ Deliver Away Debt talked about his debt and his debt destroyer.  I’m looking forward to the rest of the series, and Im impressed at how well his is working

Craig @ Free From Broke Bought a House!  Congrats Craig.  Right now, I’m relatively passively reading all I can on buying a home, as I’d like to in the next few years.

Beagle @ Money Beagle is Wondering if We are Stuck in Neutral.  This is a pretty good question, and I must admit I wonder it myself sometimes.  I try to paint it like what I’m doing is working and things are getting better, I’m just in a holding pattern working what I need to do so that I can make sure I’m primed and ready for the next step.

Red from @ Girl With The Red Balloon has gone college on us, with a great post on textbook prices.  This was one of the things I hated the most when I was in school, and I must admit, after the first trip to the bookstore I had and the low, low offer they made me on my books, I told them no thanks and kept them all.  Therefore, I have 6 years worth of college books stashed away in random places.  Most I don’t use, and I’m thinking of putting them all on half.com, amazon or ebay, but I’d like to clear my plate a bit first.

J. Money @ budgets are sexy is talking about DINKS.  He’s also linked to other articles that have talked about it, and interesting discussion is all over the place.  As for me, I think the life would be great, but I’m not sure which side of the fence I’m on.

Thats All folks.  I hope you are enjoying the redesign!  let me know if you’ve got any comments/concerns, etc.

Not a problem, Beagle. As an aside, I never know if I should call you “money beagle” or just “beagle.” Will snoopy suffice, as he’s probably the most famous of the beagles, or Uno, the dog show winner.

The whole spy story is like something from 1986!
